What is personalised jewellery?
Personalised jewellery is any piece of jewellery that has been customised to carry personal meaning — through engraving (names, dates, messages, coordinates), monogramming, birthstone selection, or completely bespoke design from scratch. Unlike mass-produced jewellery, personalised pieces are made specifically for the wearer or the occasion, making them deeply meaningful and impossible to replicate. At Riolls Jewels, all personalisation is performed by hand by a master goldsmith in our Surat atelier — never by machine.
Can I engrave a personalised message on a ring?
Yes. All Riolls rings — engagement rings, wedding bands, and fashion rings — can be hand-engraved with a personal message, date, name, initials, or coordinates. Inner-band engraving (hidden personal message) and outer-band engraving (visible design engraving) are both available. Engraving is performed by our master goldsmiths using traditional hand-engraving techniques for a finish that is impossible to achieve by machine. Complimentary engraving is included on all bespoke and custom commissions.
What personalisation options does Riolls offer?
Riolls Jewels offers four types of personalisation: (1) Custom engraving — names, dates, initials, coordinates, or messages on any piece; (2) Birthstone and gemstone selection — choose your birthstone or a meaningful gem to be set by our goldsmiths; (3) Monogramming and initial design — sculpted initial motifs and monograms in precious metal; and (4) Fully bespoke design — commission a completely original, one-of-a-kind piece from scratch. Additionally, Riolls AI Studio allows you to describe your dream personalised piece in words and receive photorealistic AI-generated design concepts before crafting begins.
How long does personalised jewellery take to make?
Simple personalisations such as engraving a message or setting a birthstone on an existing design take 4 to 6 weeks at Riolls. More complex personalised commissions — such as monogram ring designs, custom name necklaces, or fully bespoke pieces — take 8 to 12 weeks from design approval to delivery. All items are handcrafted by a single master goldsmith, fully insured during shipping, and delivered worldwide.
What is the difference between personalised jewellery and bespoke jewellery?
Personalised jewellery typically involves adding a personal touch to an existing design — such as engraving a name, setting a birthstone, or adding initials. Bespoke jewellery goes further: it is a completely original piece designed from scratch, co-created between the client and the designer. At Riolls, both services are available. Personalisation can be added to any existing piece in the collection, while bespoke commissions create entirely new designs through a guided consultation, sketch, 3D render, and 8–12 week handcrafting process.
